If you are unable to file your 2007 Federal tax return by April 15, 2008, We can get you an 6 month extension of time. All you need to do is send us an e-mail that includes you and your spouse names, address, and social security numbers. We do charge a $10.00 fee so please include your credit card number and expiration date. Our e-mail address is Taxpro@Stadlertax.com Please put Extension in the Subject title.
What will the extension get me?
By filing the extension, you can avoid a late filing penalty.
However, this extension is only an extension of time to file your
return; it does not give you more time to pay the tax you owe.
I owe on my tax return what should I do?
You will be charged interest from April 15th on the unpaid balance.
You will also be charged a late payment penalty.
I think that I will owe, but I will not have my tax return
completed by April 15. What should I do?
File the extension with a payment. If you have overpaid it will
be refunded back to you when you file your tax return.
If I file extension when am I required to file my tax forms?
The deadline to file your tax return with an extension is October
15, 2008.
Please Note: If your return is completed but you are unable to
pay the tax due, do not request an extension. File your return
by April 15th and pay as much as you can. The IRS will send you
a bill or notice for the balance due. You may also request an
installment agreement by completing Form 9465, Installment Agreement
Request. You will be notified if your request has been approved,
or if additional information is needed. You will be charged interest
and may be charged a late payment penalty on any tax not paid
by April 15th. If your request is granted, you must also pay a
fee of $43.00.
If you are a U.S. citizen, resident or a member of the armed forces, whose home and main place of business or post of duty is outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico on April 15, 2008, you are allowed an automatic extension until June 15, 2008 to file your return and pay any tax due for 2007. However, if you pay the tax due after the due date of the return, interest will be charged from April 15 until the date the tax is paid. If you use this automatic extension, you must attach a statement to your return stating that your home and your main place of business or post of duty are outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico on the due date of your return.
